Most of us have memories of older relatives taking a trolley walker to the shops. For a while, it seemed they fell out of fashion, especially in favour of other mobility aids such as travel scooters, but they have not completely disappeared. They still fill a vital function, although they have evolved somewhat to provide more features in line with new technology. The following CareCo trolley walkers represent a small selection of our range.
What is a Trolley Walker?
When browsing the CareCo range you will see a number of different types of walking frame. The most popular are the tri-walkers and the rollators. However, these do not have much (if any) storage space. There is another type – those designed as a mix of a walking aid with more storage.
At first glance, the bright pattern may look like one of the more dated trolley walkers. However, it’s so much more than that. Made from a lightweight steel tube frame, you’ll find it easy to manoeuvre and simple to use. It’s also much more visually striking than older models, but the Leisure Trolley also has several other features to set it apart. Firstly, it has a fold down seat so you can stop wherever you are to take a break. Giving it an advantage over with tri-walkers that don’t tend to have a bag. Secondly, it has a revolutionary triple wheel design that rotates when pulling it up steps.
Deluxe Height Adjustable Trolley Walker
Suitable for in the home rather than outdoors, both the deluxe and the standard height-adjustable CareCo trolley walkers are lightweight and functional. The frame construction has adjustable parts allowing you to raise it up to 95cm (around three feet) for taller people, or so you don’t need to bend down quite so far if you have back problems. It’s designed as the perfect indoor trolley walker with a simple but effective braking system and an inset lower tray so you won’t bash your legs when in use. It also comes with two trays for transporting the tea.
At first glance, this product really does look exactly like the trolley walkers our grandparents used in the 1970s but as with the other models, you’d be quite mistaken about that too. Certainly, it has a traditional appearance, but it has several features that old models lacked. The first is the foldaway seat, so you can take a rest needed and it’s padded and for comfort. The second is internal insulation to keep cold and frozen items chilled for as long as possible. The third major feature is the set of four feet that keep it in place when upright.
This is the luxury model in our range of trolley walkers. It’s a stable yet lightweight design with front wheels that swivel for ease of manoeuvrability. Designed with arthritis and rheumatism in mind, you can grip and rest your weight on this with little risk of it running away from you. This model also folds flat for quick and easy storage. With front zipped pockets and three internal rear pouch pockets, you’ll be amazed at the amount of space in the Sholeco Deluxe trolley walker. Furthermore, side pouches are ideal for storing a walking stick, umbrella, or another tall item.
