Featured CareCo Walking Frames and Their Benefits

Walking frames are a necessity for those who have difficulty supporting themselves when standing, they provide enough impendence that the user doesn’t require someone always being by their side. When choosing a walking frame, you may be surprised about the diversity of design. So, to help you choose the one that’s right for you, here are three examples of excellent walking frames.

Zimma Folding Walker with Wheelswalking frames zimma

Zimma is probably the best-known name when it comes to walking frames, so much so that it’s often used in place of ‘walking’ itself. This particular product represents the simplicity and practicality of many of their products. The traditional shape has crossbars to provide excellent strength capable of holding up to 18st 13lbs and the handles have a rubber coating to make it comfortable to hold for long periods.

Additionally, there are wheels located on the front, so if you struggle to lift the frame completely you can instead shuffle using the wheels. The legs themselves can be adjusted in height preventing the need for excessive hunching over and causing back issues. The adjustments can be made with a simple push button system. Finally, the frame can be folded flat with consummate ease, making it easy to store when not in use.

The Deluxe Duo makes some thoughtful modifications to the traditional walking frame to broaden its scope as a mobility aid. The unique shape of the frame provides support handles at two different levels. The benefit of this is not only do you have support while walking or stranding, but there is also a more comfortable level to lean on when getting out of a seated position. Of course, the whole walker itself can be adjusted to your ideal height.

Like the Zimma, the Deluxe can be folded flat. However, the way in which this is activated differs slightly. Underneath the handle bars are levers that can be squeezed, releasing the frame to be folded down. This reduces the chance of getting any fingers caught by accident. Furthermore, although there are no wheels on this walking frame the low weight of just 3kg is easy to lift.

Bariatric Anterior Safety Walkerwalking frames bariatric

The Bariatric Anterior Safety Walker is a walking frame primarily designed to support larger users. The heavy-duty fame is built to withstand a maximum weight limit of 35st 10lbs, suitable for the vast majority of potential users. Due the slightly higher weight of the frame itself, it’s mounted on castors to eliminate the need for lifting and can instead be rolled.

To prevent it from getting away from the user there is an automatic braking system that senses when the user stumbles, but it can also be applied manually by squeezing the hand grips. Like other walking frames it is height adjustable, but also width adjustable due to the wraparound configuration of the handlebars.
